Creating a Kit in Gimkit is an easy and quick process. If you want to build a custom quiz game, this manual will help you start from scratch. Follow these simple steps using the tools available on the Gimkit website.
Begin by Starting a New Kit
First, log in to your account and head to your dashboard at Gimkit.com/me. On the main dashboard, you’ll find a button that says “New Kit.” This is the first step in setting up your quiz. Click that button to get started.
Step | Task |
---|---|
1 | Open your Gimkit dashboard |
2 | Select the “New Kit” option |
Fill in Kit Information
After you click the button, a screen will appear asking for details. You’ll need to provide three key things:
- The title for your Kit
- The language your questions will be in
- The subject that your Kit will focus on
These details help organize your Kit and make it easier to find or sort later.
Field | What to Input |
---|---|
Kit Name | A name that fits your topic |
Language | Choose from available options |
Subject | Select a category for your quiz |
Choose a Kit Cover Image
Next, you can personalize your Kit by selecting a cover photo. You get two options for adding an image:
- You can search and pick an image from Unsplash, which offers free images
- Or, if you already have an image in mind, paste a direct image link from the web
Option | Method |
---|---|
Unsplash | Use search and select a photo |
Image link | Paste a URL of your chosen image |
Add Questions to Your Kit
Now that your Kit setup is complete, it’s time to add questions. There are many ways to do this, but we’ll focus on creating them manually. Click the “Add a Question” button to start building your first question.
Enter Your Questions and Answers
You can write your question and enter answer choices on the next screen. You can include:
- The correct answers
- Incorrect answer options
Click the check symbol next to the answer to mark right answers. You can select more than one correct answer if needed. You’ll also see an option to add media, such as images or videos, to the question. When you’re done, press the “Add” button to save it.
Note: Only paid Gimkit users can add audio-based questions.
Task | Description |
---|---|
Write your question | Type your question in the box |
Add answers | Fill in the correct and incorrect options |
Select correct ones | Use the check icon beside the answer |
Insert media | Optional: add a picture or video |
Save the question | Click on “Add” to confirm |
Complete and Use Your Kit
Once all your questions are ready, click “All Done.” This will take you back to your main dashboard. From there, your kit will be available on your list of created kits.
You can open it any time to edit, place it in a folder, or use it to play a Gimkit game.
