Getting Started
To launch this mode, follow these quick steps:
Step | What To Do |
---|---|
1 | Start a live game session. |
2 | Choose “Don’t Look Down” in the Mode Picker. Press “Continue.” |
3 | Adjust settings on the Game Options screen. By default, checkpoints are turned off. |
4 | Click the game code to copy and share it. Students can also join by heading to gimkit.com/join. |
5 | Use the button in the lower-left to switch between joining as a player or a viewer. |
6 | Once all participants are ready, hit the green “Start Game” button. |
7 | Wait a few seconds for the game to begin. The view depends on if you’re a player or a viewer. |
Playing the Game
In this mode, everyone jumps toward the top of six cliffs. The first to make it all the way wins.
- Players must answer questions to collect the energy required for movement.
- Each jump uses energy. Bad jumps could send you back to the start.
- The game ends once someone reaches the highest point.
- If time runs out or the host ends the match early, the person closest to the top wins.
Ideal Use Case
This mode is excellent for groups that want:
- A game that’s simple to learn
- Action-packed gameplay
- Balance between skill and learning
- Fair competition
Assignment Compatibility
You can use this mode in Assignments too.
While assigning, you get to pick the summit goal for your students. If your summit height is high, you should increase the number of questions or the energy reward for correct answers.
Setting | Tip |
---|---|
Summit Goal | Higher summits mean more questions may be needed. |
Question Goal | Set a limit so the game ends when students answer a specific number. |
Energy per Question | Change this to make the game shorter or longer. |
Game Tips
- Only a few game settings are available: Duration and Energy Earned per Answer.
- Want a quick and tough round? Lower the energy given per correct answer.
- Would you prefer a longer game? Raise the energy reward.
Players can move using either arrow keys or WASD. The space bar also works for jumping. Use running jumps for more distance; a second press of the jump key can help you double jump.
